TRAVEL EXPERIENCES

Hello everyone.

We are too old to travel around the world. But we have insatiable desire to go around the world. We see the world through the travels of our Grand Daughter with her parents. 

We were taken around the world by her narration of her experiences. 

Let us start with their recent travel to AUSTRALIA in the summer of 2025.

Over to her words:

""PREPARATION OF THE TRAVEL PLAN

Our summer of 2025 was planned way ahead in consultation with the athai patti living in Australia.  The itinerary was prepared by my parents. All ticket booking and travel booking were done by my mother along with father online.  

FIRST LEG OF THE JOURNEY .

Chennai to Sydney with a switch plane at Singapore. 

We were all excited to take the trip. We made purchases for the trip at pondy Bazaar. It was a hectic one week before the trip. 

My schools closed for summer holidays on 8th May 2025.

After packing all things necessary for the trip in 3 suitcases we were waiting to start our journey.

On the day before we are to leave i.e 12th May 2025 my grand parents baghy patti and raja thatha along with rahul mama came home to wish us bon voyage. 

I was so  excited I could not sleep that night properly. My Mom and Dad were busy in making final plans before start of the trip.

CHENNAI TO SINGAPORE TRAVEL

On the 12th Morning our flight was at 3.30 pm. We have to leave by 1 pm. 

We did our check in online as is the normal practice. it is called WEB CHECKIN 

Our plane was indigo. 

The cab came at around 1 pm. We loaded all our baggage into the car. It  was a big car. We proceed with joy. 

Unfortunately half way to the air port our car stopped. The driver checked and said the axle of the car broken. we called for another cab and continued our journey to airport. There was a little tense moment as the time was running out. 

On arrival at air port we transported our baggage to the check in kiosk. In between it was sent through scanner. By mistake at the other side of scanner i took the bag of another person. Later returned with apology. 

Then we went to the kiosk and entered our details to get the boarding pass. we obtained the boarding passes for both our Chennai-Singapore and Singapore-Sydney flights. Then we proceeded to immigration counter. At the counter the lady in the counter asked about our details such as where are we heading to and wished us BON VOYAGE. 

After that we entered security check are. Here Ladies and gentlemen had separate queues. First they asked me to remove my overcoat. After that they said it is fine.

We then went to the entry gate and entered the air craft. We found the seats allotted to us was in a mess. That is we got 3 middle seats in three different rows. Dad discussed with the co travelers and adjusted the seats. We got two seats together and one behind.

 We had a pleasant flight. We got something to eat. 

We landed on CHANGI AIRPORT at Singapore at around 9 pm Local time. Since we are only transiting passengers no luggage to clear nor immigration to be done. We have to rush to the terminal where next QANTAS flight to SYDNEY. 

We identified the gate no through the screen which was displaying flight no and gate no. 

We need to take the sky train which is freely available to go the gate. Singapore airport was looking so beautiful and some of the displays were very attractive. Though we want to see them all and enjoy due to paucity of time we have to rush to the gate for boarding. We missed the first sky train and waited for the next one. We took that and reached the gate. There was a long queue. 

We boarded the flight after checking the boarding pass after security check at the gate. 

We got comfortable seats. They gave dinner and there was a movie going. But I was tired and slept till I reached SYDNEY.
